Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Experts Help Educators Enhance Student Learning in Four-Part Apperson Webinar

Hosted on the SimpleK12 platform, the “Day-of-Learning” includes four half-hour webinars detailing the essential role of SEL in education

Charlotte, N.C. – May 15, 2015 – Research shows that helping students learn social and emotional skills can improve academic achievement.  To help educators understand the concept and measurement of social and emotional competence, Apperson and the Devereux Center for Resilient Children are creating a free, “Day of Learning” webinar series, which will offer four different 30-minute presentations featuring leading SEL experts.
Hosted on the SimpleK12 platform, the presentations will help educators learn about the development of the whole child by building social and emotional skills as a foundation for academic learning. Practical tools and strategies will be presented, to ensure educators are developing students who are healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged.

The four-part webinar series will take place on June 2, 2015 beginning at 1 pm EDT/10 am PDT  and consists of 30-minute presentations held at 1 PM, 2 PM, 3 PM and 4 PM, (EDT) followed by Q&A sessions.
